    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing condensed particles using rubber latex having a middle particle size by adding unsaturated acid monomer containing copolymer latex to a synthetic rubber latex having a middle particle size. CONSTITUTION: The method includes the steps of mixing a synthetic rubber latex with a particle size of 1,500 to 2,500 angstrom, an anionic emulsifying agent, non-ionic emulsifying agent and a defoaming agent, while stirring to pretreat the synthetic rubber latex; mixing ion exchanging water and pH controller to a unsaturated acid containing copolymer latex having a solid content of 10 to 50 wt% to adjust the solid content of the copolymer latex to 1 to 10 wt% and the pH of 5 to 11; and adding the unsaturated acid containing copolymer latex treated as above into the pretreated synthetic rubber latex.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing coagulated particles of rubber latex excellent in stability, which shows small changes of particle diameter with the lapse of time. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) forming a seed synthetic rubber latex by typical emulsion polymerization, (ii) mixing an ion-exchanged water, pH adjusting agent, and emulsifier into a unsaturated acid-containing copolymer latex having solid content of 10-50 wt%, to pre-treat the latex so as to have solid content of 1-10 wt% and pH of 3-11, (iii) introducing the pre-treated latex into the seed synthetic rubber latex formed from the step(i), and (iv) adding an ion-exchanged water, anionic emulsifier, nonionic emulsifier, antifoaming agent, and water-soluble polymer to the seed synthetic rubber latex. The method is characterized in that the water-soluble polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol having number average molecular weight of 200-20,000, copolymer of ethylene glycol and ethylene oxide, and a copolymer of polypropylene glycol and propylene glycol and ethylene oxide.

    Abstract: A method of preparing a synthetic rubber latex which comprises: (a) pretreating a seed synthetic rubber latex with deionised water, an anionic emulsifier, a non-ionic emulsifier and an anti-foaming agent; (b) mixing an unsaturated acid-containing copolymer latex, having 10 to 50% by weight solids content, with deionized water and a pH controlling agent to produce an unsaturated acid-containing latex with 1 to 10% by weight solids content and a pH of 5 to 11; and (c) adding the latex of (a) to the latex of (b). The seed synthetic rubber latex preferably has particle sizes from 700-1500 Ñ and a solids content of from 30 to 50% by weight. The synthetic rubber latex may comprise polybutadiene, butadiene-styrene copolymer, butadiene- a -methyl styrene copolymer, butadiene-(meth)acrylate copolymer or mixtures thereof. The unsaturated acid monomer may comprise (meth)acrylic acid, methyl acrylic acid, itaconic acid, crotonic acid, fumaric acid or maleic acid.
