Abstract: 본 발명은 방사선으로부터 세포나 조직을 방호하는 털지누아리(Polyopes lancifolia (Harvey) kawaguchi et wang)의 신규한 용도에 관한 것이다. 구체적으로 본 발명은 털지누아리 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 방사선으로부터 세포나 조직 방호용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 상기 방사선에는 감마-조사(γ-irradiation)가 포함된다. 본 발명에 따른 털지누아리 추출물은 방사선 조사로 유발되는 활성산소종(ROS)의 생성을 억제하고, 항산화 효소들의 활성을 보존시킨다. 또한, 방사선 조사에 의한 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 효과적으로 억제할 수 있다. 따라서 방사선으로부터 생물체를 방호하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
