Abstract: PURPOSE: A suffocation prevention device for a vehicle using a carbon dioxide detector and a suffocation prevention method using the same are provided to generate oxygen by electrolyzing water generated when carbon dioxide is removed and supplying the oxygen to the inside the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A suffocation prevention device for a vehicle using a carbon dioxide detector comprises a carbon dioxide detector(110) and an alarm signal generation unit. The carbon dioxide detector measures the concentration of carbon dioxide in a vehicle and removes the carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide detector generate oxygen by electrolyzing water generated when the carbon dioxide is removed and discharges the generated oxygen to the inside the vehicle. The alarm signal generation unit receives the measured results from the carbon dioxide detector and outputs an alarm signal to the outside.
