    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a pleat type knitted fabric is provided to form natural pleats on the knitted fabric through different shrinkage rates of yarns when the knitted fabric is dyed, thereby simplifying the manufacturing process of the pleat type knitted fabric. A fabric is knitted by using a latent crimp yarn and a general yarn at a ratio 1:1-2:1. The latent crimp yarn has a thermal shrinkage rate of 10-30% at 60-130‹C and a restoration rate of 30-70%. The general yarn has a thermal shrinkage rate of no more than 10% at 60-130‹C. Pile yarns are woven in the fabric, and then the woven pile yarns are cut, thereby arranging the pile yarns in the fabric. The treated fabric is dyed at 60-130‹C.
