    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a nonaqueous ink-jet ink which is improved in storage stability, ejecting property, drying property, fixing property and smear fastness. CONSTITUTION: The nonaqueous ink-jet ink comprises an organic solvent mixture comprising at least two kinds of organic solvents; a pigment; and a resin, wherein the organic solvent mixture satisfies the three relations represented by 5>A>0.1, 10>B>1, and 8>(B- A)>0.1. In the relations, A = x1y1+x2y2+···+xnyn; B = x1/y1+x2/y2+···+xn/yn; x1, x2, ···, xn are the ratio of each organic solvent when the total amount of organic solvents is 1; y1, y2, ···, yn are the vapor pressure (mmHg) of each organic solvent; and n is an integer. Preferably the organic solvent mixture comprises at least one a glycol acetate represented by CH3CO(OR1)nOR2, wherein R1 is an ethylene group or a propylene group; R2 is a C1-C4 alkyl group; and n is an integer of 1-3.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are a pigment dispersion which has excellent dispersibility, fluidity and storage stability, and an ink-jet ink and a printing ink containing the pigment dispersion. CONSTITUTION: The pigment dispersion comprises a condensate of polyarylamine and polyester having free carbonic acid; a pigment derivative represented by (P-X)¬- £N(R1, R2, R3, R4)|¬+; a pigment; and an organic solvent, wherein P is a different kind of organic chromic residue selected from azo-based, benzimidazole-based, phthalocyanine-based, quinacridone-based, anthraquinone-based, dioxazine-based, diketopyrrolopyrrole-based, quinophthalone-based, isoindolinone-based, isoindoline-based, perylene-based, perinone-based, flavanthrone-based, pyranthrone-based and anthrapyrimidine-based one; X is a sulfonic acid group or a carbonic acid group; R1 is a C5-C20 alkyl group; and R2, R3 and R4 are independently H or a C1-C20 alkyl group.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a non-aqueous ink composition for ink-jet recording, comprising (A) an urethane resin dispersant having an acidic functional group, (B) a pigment and (C) an organic solvent [and optionally (D) a thermally reactive compound]. The dispersant (A) is a branched urethane resin dispersant prepared by polymerizing an isocyanate-terminated compound (p) with a compound (c) having one or more acidic groups and two or more hydroxyl groups and a polyol compound (q) having two or more hydroxyl groups between which 1 to 30 atoms are interposed, under hydroxyl-excess conditions. The isocyanate-terminated compound (p) is prepared by reacting a polyisocyanate (a) having three or more isocyanate groups with a monoalcohol (b) at such a ratio that the ratio of the number of moles of an isocyanate group derived from the component (a) (Ma) to that of a hydroxyl group derived from the component (b) (Mb) becomes 3/2 to 3/0.5 by mole. The polyisocyanate (a) is used in an amount of 25 to 60% by weight relative to the total amount of volatile components of the dispersant (A).
