Abstract: PURPOSE: A coloring composition and a color filter using the same are provided to improve development characteristic and to prevent coloring compositions from being remaining on the non-printed part of a substrate after development. CONSTITUTION: A coloring composition includes a coloring agent, a resin, and a monomer. The monomer includes a multifunctional monomer with an acidic group. The coloring composition satisfies one of the following requirements: the coloring composition further includes an organic solvent, and the coloring agent includes a salt forming compound by the reaction of an anionic dye and a resin with a cationic group as a side chain; the coloring composition further includes a photo-polymerization initiator; and the coloring composition further includes the photo-polymerization initiator, a solvent, and an antioxidant agent.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition for a color filter which hardly sets at a tip portion of a coating liquid discharge hole of a die coating type coating device, has superior self-solubility even when solidified, and hardly generates a coating defect, and a color filter having a filter segment and/or a black matrix which is free of defects such as application streak unevenness and foreign matter sticking. SOLUTION: Disclosed are the coloring composition for the color filter which contains a coloring material carrier consisting of transparent resin and its precursor, or their mixture, a coloring material, and unsaturated higher fatty acid, and the color filter having the filter segment and/or black matrix formed on a substrate by using the coloring composition for the color filter.
