Abstract: PURPOSE: A method of hand over provided by mobile access gateway in a proxy mobile internet protocol environment using proxy mobile internet protocol and a mobile access gateway performing the same are provided to maintain transmission order of upload and download data during handover of a mobile terminal, thereby minimizing loss of data packet. CONSTITUTION: A tunnel(311) provides information transfer between a mobile access gateway(310) and one or more adjacency mobile access gateway adjacent to the mobile access gateway. A handover database(312) manages at least one of mobile terminal information connected to at least one of adjacency mobile access gateway and at least one of mobile terminal information connected to the mobile access gateway.
