    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing a ketone by reacting an aldehyde and an olefin, which improves the efficiency of a catalyst, therefore, it can improve yield and shorten the reaction time. CONSTITUTION: The ketone is produced by reacting an aliphatic or aromatic aldehyde and a vinyl olefin having an aliphatic or aromatic alkyl group in the presence of a transition metal catalyst, a 2-amino pyridine derivative, a primary amine, and an acid as a catalyst and additives, wherein the transition metal catalyst is at least one or two selected from the group consisting of a rhodium monovalent catalyst, a catalyst of the rhodium monovalent and a phosphine compound, a rhodium trivalent catalyst, a catalyst of the rhodium trivalent and the phosphine compound, a ruthenium catalyst, and an iridium catalyst.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is an ortho-alkylation method of an aromatic ketone, which applies an alkyl group selectively to the ortho position of the aromatic ketone by reacting the aromatic ketone with an olefin. CONSTITUTION: The ortho-alkylation method is performed by (1) reacting the aromatic ketone with an alkyl contained compound, such as an aliphatic or aromatic alkyl contained olefin, an internal olefin, or a diene compound, in the presence of a primary amine and a transition metal catalyst or by (2) reacting the aromatic ketone with the primary amine to produce a ketimine and then reacting the ketimine with the alkyl contained compound in the presence of the transition metal catalyst.
