    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a fine friction and wear testing apparatus. The fine friction and wear testing apparatus includes a working table to whose upper surface a plate specimen is secured. First drive means horizontally reciprocates the working table. A support arm is situated over the working table and securely holds a roundly tipped specimen to be projected downwardly. First sensing means senses the horizontal displacement of the plate specimen. Second drive means operates the support arm to exert a load on the plate specimen through the roundly tipped specimen. Second sensing means senses the displacement of the roundly tipped specimen. A control unit operates the first and second drive means in accordance with set values and calculates the displacements sensed by the first and second sensing means. A display shows the friction and wear characteristics of the specimens to users in real time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A fine frictional wear test apparatus is provided to finely adjust the sliding distance and continuously control the size and reciprocation cycle of load, while achieving improved reliability for the test result. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a work table(4) having a flat plate sample(1) fixed onto the work table; a first drive unit(3) for moving the work table in a horizontal direction; a support board(6) disposed above the work table, and which has a ball sample(2) fixed at the lower surface of the support board; a first sensor(8) for sensing the horizontal displacement of the flat panel sample; a second driving unit for applying a predetermined load to the flat panel sample by the ball sample by pulling a load flat plate(7a), a second sensor(9) for sensing the displacement of the ball sample; a third sensor(10) for sensing the horizontal displacement of the ball sample; a fourth sensor(11) for sensing the vertical displacement of the ball sample; a control unit for operating the first and second driving units in accordance with a preset value, and calculating the displacement sensed by the sensors; and a display unit for displaying, in a real time basis, the frictional wear characteristics of the samples calculated by the control unit.
