Abstract: A method for preparing N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-N-(methoxyacetyl)-DL- alanine alkyl ester, useful as a curing agent of plant disease, is presented. Thus, a mixt. contg. 34.8g N-(2'-propionitrile)-2,6- dimethyl aniline, 100ml toluene and 33g methoxy acetyl chloride was refluxed to give 44.2g N-methoxyacetyl-N-(2'propionitrile)-2,6- dimethyl aniline.
