Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing a reaction bonding silicon carbide, which supplies melted silicon effectively regardless of the form, size and thickness of the reaction bonding silicon carbide, prevents the cohesion of the melted silicon, and supplies the melted silicon uniformly. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: preparing a silicon supplying specimen composed of a silicon powder and a thermosetting resin selected from the group consisting of a phenol resin, a furfuryl alcohol resin and an epoxy resin as a binding agent; preparing a silicon carbide/carbon filling body; contacting the silicon supplying specimen to one side of the filling body in a reaction bonding furnace; and heat treating at the temperature higher than the melting point of the silicon under vacuum or an inert atmosphere to infiltrate the melted silicon in the silicon supplying specimen into the inside of the filling body.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for preparing powder granules by liquid condensation process is provided to economically prepare uniform granules without defects, and a method for compacting powder granules by liquid condensation process is provided to freely change compaction density of granules and improve compactibility of powder granules. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the processes of preparing slurry by mixing powder and binder with solvent(13) soluble for the binder; dropping the slurry into solvent insoluble for the binder, thereby fixing the binder so that the binder is prevented from coming out of the surface of droplets, and causing replacement between the soluble solvent and insoluble solvent inside the droplets on the surface of dropped slurry droplets, thereby condensing the droplets; and completely removing residual solvent by drying the separated droplets after separating condensed droplets from the insoluble solvent. The method for compacting powder granules by liquid condensation process comprises the processes of preparing slurry by mixing powder to be compacted and binder with solvent soluble for the binder; dropping the slurry into solvent insoluble for the binder, thereby fixing the binder so that the binder is prevented from coming out of the surface of droplets, and causing replacement between the soluble solvent and insoluble solvent inside the droplets on the surface of dropped slurry droplets, thereby condensing the droplets; completely removing residual solvent by drying the separated droplets after separating condensed droplets from the insoluble solvent; preparing green compact by pressing the dried granules in mold; and degreasing the binder by heating the green compact.

Abstract: Powder granules are prepared by preparing slurry by mixing powders, binding agent, and binding agent soluble solvent; dropping slurry to binding agent insoluble solvent; coagulating droplet by solvent exchange between the soluble and insoluble solvents; and separating the coagulated droplet from the insoluble solvent. The preparation of powder granules involves preparing slurry by mixing powders, binding agent, and binding agent soluble solvent; dropping slurry to binding agent insoluble solvent to fix the binding agent so that it can not be released to a surface of the droplet of the slurry; coagulating the droplet by solvent exchange between the soluble solvent inside the droplet and the insoluble solvent at the surface of the droplet; and separating the coagulated droplet from the insoluble solvent, drying it, and removing a residual solvent. An independent claim is also included for a method for shaping powder granules by liquid condensation comprising preparing the slurry; dropping the slurry to the binding agent insoluble solvent; coagulating the droplet; separating the coagulated droplet from the insoluble solvent; pressurizing the dried granules in a metal mold to fabricate a shaped body; and removing the binding agent by heating the shaped body.

Abstract: 본 발명은 규소분말과 결합제로서 열경화성 수지로 구성되는 소정 형태의 규소공급 시편을 준비하고, 탄화규소/탄소 충전체를 준비하고, 반응결합로 내에서 상기 충전체의 일면에 상기 규소공급 시편을 접촉시키고, 진공 또는 비활성 분위기하에서 규소의 용융온도로 열처리하여 규소공급시편 내의 용융규소를 충전체 내부로 침윤시키는 것을 포함하여 이루어지는 반응결합 탄화규소 제조방법을 제공한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 반응결합 탄화규소의 형상, 크기, 두께에 관계없이 가장 효율적으로 용융 규소를 공급하면서도 용융 규소의 응집을 방지하고 용융 규소의 균일한 공급이 가능하다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a manufacturing method of tube compacts with no separation of particle sizes and homogeneous microstructure by centrifugal casting compound granules including powder with wide particle size distribution and phenol resin in the presence of solvent unlike conventional press forming. CONSTITUTION: The homogeneous centrifugally-cast compacts are manufactured by the following steps of; (i) mixing Al2O3 or SiC powder with wide particle size distribution, 1-20wt.%(based on the powder) of phenol resin, and alcohol(ethyl or butyl alcohol); (ii) dropping the mixed slurry into water or hardener-contained water(70-90deg.C), and mixing strongly for 5-30min. to form compound granules; (iii) filtering and washing; (iv) drying the granules at 70deg.C or lower; (v) centrifugal casting for increase of compaction by feeding granules in a mold, adding water, alcohol, or water-alcohol to fill 20-100% of pores formed by granules, and centrifuging at the velocity of 2-100times more speedy than the acceleration of gravity for 0.5-2hrs with heating(80-110deg.C); (vi) holding the compacts at 50-80deg.C for 2-10hrs for removing remained solvent and hardening phenol resin completely; (vii) removing fats from the compacts in inert gas atmosphere or vacuum for compacts with carbon residue, or air atmosphere for compacts without carbon residue.
