    Abstract: The present invention relates to a sodium vanadium oxide (Na_1+xV_1-xO_2) anode material for a sodium secondary battery, which is manufactured by mixing precursor particles such as sodium carbonate (Na_2CO_3) and vanadium oxide (V_2O_3), and pyrolyzing under a gas mixture of nitrogen and 10 mol% hydrogen gas with a solid-state reaction. The sodium vanadium oxide anode material developed by the present invention has a small change of volume due to the initial irreversible capacity and the continuous charge/discharge, thereby providing a next generation sodium secondary battery having a stabilized charge/discharge characteristic and cycle performance.
