Abstract: The present invention relates to an absorbent for removing sulfur dioxide (SO_2) and sulfurous acid (H_2SO_3) using a hydrophobic and diamine-based ionic liquid, and more particularly, to an absorbent of sulfur dioxide (SO_2) and an absorbent of sulfurous acid (H_2SO_3) which is a combined state of sulfur dioxide (SO_2) and water using a quaternary amine-based hydrophobic and ionic liquid having a tertiary amine group.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an absorbent for removing sulphur dioxide (SO_2) included in exhaust gas of combustion or in the atmosphere by using a diamine-based ionic liquid supported by a polymer. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of fixing a tertiary diamine compound to the surface of a polymer and using the same as an absorbent for SO_2. The novel absorbent may also be used as an absorbent for sulfurous acid which is produced by combination of SO_2 with water.
