    Abstract: A process for production of plasmid pLCI comprises (a) isolating mRNA from human placentatissue, (b) preparing 2 chains of cDNA from the obtd. mRNA, (c) attaching (dC)n tail to the cDNA and subjecting it to recombination with plasmid vector, (d) transforimg E. coli with the recombinant plasmid, and (e) selecting clones having human lipocortin I coding gene in the transformant E. coli. Using the plasmid pLCI, human lipocortin I can be produced in soluble form. Lipocortin is useful as an anti-inflammatory protein.
