    Abstract: Organic silanes of formula (I) are prepared by reacting gammagly cidoxypropyltoialkoxysilane of formula (II) with a cpd. of formula (III) in the presence of a solvent and a base. In the formulas, R is C1-4 aliphatic alkyl; R1 and R3 are each phenyl, cyanide, -CO-CH3 or -CO2R4; R4 is C1-4 aliphatic alkyl. (I) are useful for stabilizing silicate in the antifreezing solution.

    Abstract: An antifreeze compsn. of pH 7.0-9.0 is composed of 0.07-0.35 wt.% sodium mitrate, 0.05-0.5 wt.% sodium silicate or potassium silicate, 0.2-2.0 wt.% potassium disphosphate, 0.1-1.0 wt.% sodium molybdate, 0.02-0.3 wt.% sodium vanadate, 0.05-0.3 wt.% sodium tolyltriazol, 0.5-4.0 wt.% benzoic acid, 0.01-0.5 wt.% organic silane of formula (I) and residual wt.% of ethyleneglycol.
