Abstract: PURPOSE: An envelope curve wave detecting apparatus capable of dynamic control in response to an input signal and a method thereof are provided to set an envelope curve detector to be suitable to the input signal. CONSTITUTION: An envelope curve wave detecting apparatus comprises an envelope curve detector (410), a wave detection band determining unit (420), and a wave detection band controller (430). The envelope curve detector outputs the envelope curve of an input signal in response to the input signal. The wave detection band determining unit determines the desired wave detection band in response to the input signal. The wave detection band controller generates a control signal, which is provided to the envelope curve detector to control the wave detection band of the envelope curve detector, based on the determined wave detection band. The wave detection band controller generates the control signal to control the current source or the capacitor included in the envelope curve detector.
