Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are a composition for nitric oxide-mediated vasorelaxation using Rhizoma ligusticum wallichii and a pharmaceutical composition using the same. The composition is useful for prevention and treatment of cardiopulmonary disorders. CONSTITUTION: A composition for nitric oxide-mediated vasorelaxation using Rhizoma ligusticum wallichii is characterized by at least one of Cnidium officinale, Cnidium officinale powder and Cnidium officinale extract as an active ingredient. The Cnidium officinale extract is obtained by using water, lower alcohol or organic solvent as an extraction solvent, wherein the organic solvent includes acetone, chloroform, methylene chloride, ether, ethylacetate or hexane.
