Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH extract is provided to maximize the content of active ingredient and to improve exercise ability. CONSTITUTION: A composition for enhancing endurance exercise or exercise ability contains Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH extract as an active ingredient. The Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH extract is a hot water extract or supercritical extract using ethanol. A composition for enhancing endurance exercise or exercise ability further contains Erythronium japonicum (Balrer) Decne. extract. A method for preparing the Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH extract comprises: a step of isolating Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH by hot water to prepare first extract containing glycyzine; a step of isolating precipitate obtained during hot water extraction by ethanol or supercritical extraction to prepare second extract containing glabridin; and a step of mixing the first and second extract.
