Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for interfacing a master in a PON(Passive Optical Network) is provided to configure an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode)-PON using a TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) system, and to perform a network optical line terminating function and an interface function of an ATM layer. CONSTITUTION: A control processor(301) performs an interface with a CPU. A power supply processor(302) receives 48V power from a main system, to supply power to a main board. A clock distributor(303) supplies clocks necessary for the main board. A physical medium unit(304) performs O/E(Optical-to-Electric) or E/O conversion. A physical layer unit(305) performs interface between the physical medium unit(304) and an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) layer(306), and inserts/extracts ATM cells. The ATM layer unit(305) processes an ATM layer. And a multiplexing/demultiplexing unit(307) multiplexes/demultiplexes ATM cells.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A broadcasting channel controlling method in an access network is provided to effectively use a limited band width between an optical line terminal and an optical network unit. CONSTITUTION: An optical network unit is initialized according to a configuration information request message received from a service user terminal. An optical line terminal is initialized according to the configuration information request message requested by the optical network unit. CONSTITUTION: An ATM-PON access network operation, management and maintenance block(205) contains an IPC message processing module(301), an operator management module(302), a feature management module(303), a connection management module(304), a performance management module(305), a fault management module(306), a test management module(307), a subscriber management module(308), and an operation information management module(309).
