    Abstract: A method for preparing a sulfide-based phosphor is provided to realize an eco-friendly process by avoiding the use of hydrogen sulfide or carbon dioxide gas, to avoid a need for an additional washing step, and to improve the light emitting property of the phosphor. A method for preparing a sulfide-based phosphor comprises: a step(S11) of introducing a sulfide precursor and active ions as starting materials into a container capable of being sealed under vacuum; a step(S12) of sealing the container having the starting materials under vacuum; and a step(S13) of heat treating the vacuum sealed container. The sulfide precursor is selected from the group consisting of zinc sulfide, sulfides of alkaline earth metals, and a solid solution selected from Ca-Mg, Ca-Sr, Mg-Ba, Sr-Ba, Ca-Al, Ba-Al, Ca-Ga and Ba-Ga.
