    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for optimizing the output of an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) reader are provided to maximize RFID tag recognition distance and ratio by optimizing the output of an RFID reader without having any effect on the interface loss between the RFID reader and its antenna. An apparatus for optimizing the output of an RFID reader(110) comprises a loss measurement part, an output compensation amplification part, and an output fixing part(130). The loss measurement part, which comprises an input port(140) placed between the RFID reader and an RFID reader antenna(160), receives a signal outputted from the antenna, and measures the interface loss between the RFID reader and the antenna. The output compensation amplification part having an amplifier(120) amplifies its own output to an output value to compensate for the measured interface loss. The output fixing part stores the compensated output value and regularly maintains the output of the output compensation amplification part.
