Abstract: PURPOSE: A quality measuring method for the roadbed of a railroad is provided to measure the compaction degree throughout many sections by measuring P wave speed of the field. CONSTITUTION: A quality measuring method for the roadbed of a railroad comprises following steps. Material used in soil of a layer(1) forming the roadbed is collected. Moisture content is different and is sampled. The sampled material is compacted so as to maximize dry unit weight. P wave speed which passes through the inside of the sample is measured.
