Abstract: A system and a method for monitoring trespassing and fire in a shelter are provided. The system comprises an image acquisition unit for providing a first image, which is obtained from a predetermined area within the shelter during the first time by installing the image acquisition unit in the shelter, and a second image obtained during second time which is different from the first time; an extraction unit for extracting at least one first characteristic point from the first image and extracting at least one second characteristic point from the second image; and a sensing unit for sensing the events within the shelter by comparing the first characteristic point with the second characteristic point.
