    Abstract: PURPOSE: A curing system by introducing a curing agent of a hexafluoroantimonate-containing cationic latent catalyst type which has such characteristics as to suppress the volume reduction of the epoxy resin or as to induce the volume expansion in the step of curing an epoxy resin into the system is provided, which gives a molded article excellent in dimensional stability and free from a residual thermal stress. CONSTITUTION: The curing system containing a hexafluoroantimonate-containing cationic latent catalyst type curing agent having a characteristic which does not generate volume reduction or causes volume expansion without adding special fillers or additives expansion in the process of curing epoxy resin shows high glass transition temperature and excellent mechanical physical properties as compared to conventional expansible curing systems and excellent dimensional stability to water and a solvent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A potent curing agent of epoxy resin emitting heat and ultra violet ray, and epoxy resin composition and epoxy cured material containing the same are provided to give a good mechanical property, especially in case of epoxy resin composition of aliphatic epoxy(CAE) and/or bifunctional bisphenol-A type epoxy(DGEBA). N-benzylpyrazinium(BPH) containing hexafluoroantimonate(SbF6-) as the potent curing agent is synthesized by the use of benzylbromide and pyrazine as starting materials. An epoxy resin composition is characterized to be the mixture of CAE type epoxy resin, DGEBA type epoxy resin, or the mixture of the CAE resin and DGEBA resin in molar ratios between 60: 40 and 20: 80.
