A composition for preventing and treating neutodegenerative disease, which contains a polyphenol compound as an active ingredient is provided to have the effects of beta-amyloid coagulation inhibition, caspase-3 activity suppression and acetylcholinesterase activation suppression. A composition for preventing and treating neurodegenerative diseases comprises salvianolic acid, bakuchiol, epsilon-viniferin, rhapontigenin, piceatannol, luteolin, myricetin, or their mixture as an active ingredient. The neurodegenerative diseases are Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, Creutzfeldt-jakob, Parkinson's disease, Lou Gehrig's Disease, or Huntington's disease. The composition suppresses BACE-1[beta-site APP(amyloid precursor protein)-cleaving enzyme 1], caspase or acetylcholine esterase. The composition further comprises medicinal herb. The medicinal herb is Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix, Psoraleae Semen, Vitidis Fructus, Rhei Rhizoma, Digitalis Folium, Schizonepeta Herba, Taraxaci Herba, Humuli Herba, Lonicerae Folium or their mixture.

A composition comprising the extract of Saururus chinensis or active compounds isolated therefrom is provided to inhibit growth of osteoclast, so that the composition is useful for preventing or treating osteoporosis. A composition for preventing or treating osteoporosis comprises 0.01-30 wt.% of the extract of Saururus chinensis, which is prepared by extracting Saururus chinensis with C1-4 alcohol and its solution, dichloromethane, ethylacetate or a mixture thereof, or active compounds isolated from the Saururus chinensis extract including (-)-saucerneol represented by the formula(1) and sauristolactam represented by the formula(2), and is a pharmaceutical or health food composition having a formulation of beverage.

PURPOSE: A preparation method of lignocellulose based activated carbon is provided to prepare activated carbon having high density and high performance by a simpler preparation process compared to an existing preparation process. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method comprises processes of mixing lignocellulose, chemical activating agent and water; thermosetting the mixture; pulverizing the thermosetted mixture; adding molding supporting agent to the pulverized material; cohering the molding supporting agent added material; forming the cohered material into a high density pellet shaped thermosetting powder using an injector, and chamfering cohered material at the same time; drying the chamfered thermosetting powder at a temperature of 120 to 150 deg.C for 1 to 2 hours; activating the dried material to a temperature of 400 to 600 deg.C in a furnace; cleaning the residual chemical activating agent using water; and drying the water cleaned residual chemical activating agent, wherein mixing, thermosetting, pulverizing, molding supporting agent adding and cohering processes of the lignocellulose, chemical activating agent and water are performed in a lump in a high shearing force mixer to which a heating source is attached.
