Abstract: PURPOSE: A process for preparation of digital color ink-jet printer photographic paper and film is provided to freely adjust thickness of layer of the paper to absorb ink liquid and to evenly apply coating material by means of slot-die extrusion coating method. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises using a slot-die extrusion coater to control a polymer sol(30) at 40deg.C and a viscosity of 3-20cps; applying the sol to a substrate paper(10) such as photographic paper or film with constant coating thickness ranging of 5-100micrometers according to velocity of the application then drying it. The polymer sol is prepared by dispersing silicon oxide, silicon base organic material, aluminum oxide and/or titanium oxide having 0.05-1.8micrometers in an aqueous solution containing water-soluble anion, cationic PVA and PVP and other polymers.
