    Abstract: PURPOSE: A camshaft for an engine is provided to improve endurance of the camshaft by locating a welding unit of a hollow shaft on an oil groove-processing unit. CONSTITUTION: A cam shaft of an engine comprises a front end piece(5) installing a cam pulley(3) on a cam shaft(1); a cam(7) formed on an outer portion of a hollow shaft(9); a bolt hole(11) arranged on a front end of the front end piece to mount the cam pulley; am oil seal face(13) mounted on an outer circumference of the bolt hole with a trust face(15); a bearing(19) placed on a neck face(17); and valve lift opening or closing a suction/drain valves by being attached to the cam. A welding unit welded by inserting the front-end piece into the hollow shaft. Thereby, the camshaft of the engine improves endurance of the camshaft by locating the welding unit of the hollow shaft on an oil groove-processing unit.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A welding structure of cam shaft front end piece is provided in which welding ends of a pipe shaped shaft and a round bar shaped front end piece are faced each other so as to be welded by frictional heat thereof. CONSTITUTION: In a cam shaft(1) made by welding a welding end of shaft(1a) on which a plurality of cams(2) are installed to a welding end of front end piece(1b), the welding structure of cam shaft front end piece is characterized in that welding is done by frictional heat generated between the inserting end(11) of the front end piece and the inner diameter of the shaft and between respective welding ends of the front end piece and the shaft by forming an inserting end having outer diameter corresponding to inner diameter of the shaft on the welding end of the front end piece, inserting the inserting end into inner diameter of the welding end, and rotating the front end piece and shaft in a high speed in the state that the welding ends of the front end piece(1b) and shaft(1a) are faced each other.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A machining structure for rigidity of a bowl edge portion of a direct injection type combustion chamber is provided to improve the rigidity of a bowl edge portion of a combustion chamber and increase the durability. CONSTITUTION: A combustion chamber(2) is formed with a bowl machining after cutting the upper surface of a piston(1). A machining structure for rigidity of a bowl edge portion of a direct injection type combustion chamber is formed on the upper surface of a lip portion(22) of the combustion chamber. A crown machining surface(3) has a larger inner diameter than the diameter of the lip portion. A crown machining surface(3) is downward formed toward the lip portion(22). An edge portion, which is a starting point of the lip portion is increased in the diameter. Thus, the rigidity of an edge portion of a combustion chamber is improved.
