    Abstract: PURPOSE: An airbag cushion with a removable lower part and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce injury to a passenger because the contact shock between passenger's chest and an airbag is simply reduced by separating the lower part of an airbag cushion. CONSTITUTION: An airbag cushion with a removable lower part comprises a main panel(110), split panels, and side panels(130). The main panel is formed in a band shape that is longer in a horizontal direction than in a longitudinal direction. An opening is formed lengthwise in a part separate from the edge of the main panel. Both ends of the main panel in a vertical direction are sewn so that the opening is located in the center. The split panels have an edge part which is sewn along the edge of the opening and folded by half into the main panel and a through part which formed symmetrically around a folding line and sewn with the edge part folded. The side panels close the open sides of the main panel, and the edges of the side panels are sewn on the horizontal edge of the main panel.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for modifying the surface of a waste rubber, especially EPDM(ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer) by using microwaves, which improves properties and a size-stability, therefore the waste rubber can be reused as a rubber part of a car. CONSTITUTION: The method for modifying the surface of the waste EPDM contains the steps of: injecting the waste EPDM into a reactor and irradiating the microwaves to modify the surface by producing radicals, wherein the microwaves have a frequency of 2.6GHz and a power of 100-200W; and mixing a pure EPDM mixture and 10% of the waste EPDM.
