    Abstract: PURPOSE: A photo-oxidation method of trivalent arsenic using iodine ions and the UV irradiation is provided to oxidize the trivalent arsenic into pentavalent arsenic capable of easily adsorb-removing. CONSTITUTION: A photo-oxidation method of trivalent arsenic using iodine ions and the UV irradiation of 254 nanometers comprises the following steps: mixing the iodine ions with a solution containing the trivalent arsenic; and irradiating UV rays to the mixed solution to oxidize trivalent arsenic into pentavalent arsenic.
