Abstract: Polymerizable compositions suitable for use for 3D printed (e.g. orthodontic) articles, especially orthodontic alignment trays, are described. The polymerizable composition comprises a) 30-70 parts by weight of (meth)acrylate monomer(s); and b) urethane (meth)acrylate polymer; wherein the reaction product comprises at least 1 wt.% polymerized units of a multifunctional compound comprising pendent cyclic moieties. The orthodontic article comprises the reaction product of a polymerizable composition as described herein. The urethane (meth)acrylate polymer typically comprises polymerized units of a multifunctional compound comprising pendent cyclic moieties and/or at least one (meth)acrylate monomer comprises polymerized units of a multifunctional compound comprising pendent cyclic moieties. Also described are methods of making an article, non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising data representing a three-dimensional model of an article, and systems.

Abstract: A vehicle sensor system is described comprising an exterior surface; and a repellent composition disposed on the exterior surface, wherein the repellent composition exhibits an increase in haze according to the Dirty Water Spray Test of less than 5, 4, 3, or 2%. In typical embodiments, the repellent composition exhibits an advancing water contact angle from 90° to 125°. In some embodiments, the sensor system comprises a camera, a laser, a LIDAR sensor, a sonar sensor, or a radar sensor. The exterior surface is typically a windshield surface, a protective housing, or a lens surface. In some favored embodiments, the repellent composition exhibits a roll-off angle of no greater than 25, 20, 15, 10 or 5 degrees. Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods of making a hydrated orthodontic article is provided. One method includes a) providing a photopolymerizable composition; b) selectively curing the photopolymerizable composition using actinic radiation to form an article in the shape of an orthodontic article having a plurality of layers of at least one photopolymerized polymer; and c) exposing the article to water by submersion in water, thereby hydrating the article. A sheet of the at least one photopolymerized polymer has a bending modulus when hydrated of 100 MPa or greater and 2200 MPa or less. Another method includes exposing the orthodontic article to water vapor and hermetically sealing the hydrated orthodontic article in a container. Hydrated orthodontic articles are also provided, including an orthodontic article that is prepared according to one of the methods. The present disclosure further provides kits, including an orthodontic article and instructions for exposing the orthodontic article to water to hydrate the orthodontic article, as well as including a hydrated orthodontic article hermetically sealed in a container.

Abstract: A method of forming a coating on a surface of a pipeline comprises the steps of: a) providing a coating composition comprising a first part comprising at least one polyisocyanate, and a second part comprising at least 20 wt.-% of aliphatic cyclic polyamine wherein the aliphatic cyclic polyamine is not an aspartic ester amine; b) combining the first part and the second part to form a liquid mixture; c) applying the liquid mixture to internal surfaces of the pipeline; and d) allowing the mixture to set forming a cured coating.

Abstract: A copolymer preparable by copolymerization of monomer components comprising: a) polydimethylsiloxane mono(meth)acrylate having a molecular weight of from 300 to 10000 grams/mole; b) optionally C3–C10 carboxylic acid-functional mono(meth)acrylate or a salt thereof; c) at least one C5–C16 hydroxyalkyl mono(meth)acrylate; and d) at least one of: i) C10–C30 linear alkyl mono(meth)acrylate optionally having one or two carbon atoms replaced by O or S; or ii) at least one (meth)acrylate represented by the formula wherein: R1 is H or a C1–C4 alkyl group; n is an integer from 0 to 18, inclusive; each X is O, S, C2-C6 oxyalkylenoxy, C2-C6 thioalkylenethio, or a covalent bond; and R2 is independently a C5–C50 hydrocarbyl group. The copolymer is useful as a water- and oil-repellent treatment on a substrate. Certain monomers corresponding to component ii) are also disclosed.

Abstract: Articles and intermediates are described comprising an organic polymeric base member and a hardcoat layer disposed on the organic polymeric base member, wherein the hardcoat layer can be stretched 25-75% without cracking. A siliceous layer is disposed on the hardcoat layer. The siliceous layer has a porosity of no greater than 10% and a thickness no greater than 1 micron. In some embodiments, the article further comprises a surface layer comprising a zwitterionic compound bonded to the siliceous layer.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an orthodontic article including the reaction product of the polymerizable composition. Further, the present disclosure provides polymerizable compositions and methods of making an orthodontic article. The method includes obtaining a polymerizable composition and selectively curing the polymerizable composition to form an orthodontic article. Further, methods are provided, including receiving, by a manufacturing device having one or more processors, a digital object comprising data specifying an orthodontic article; and generating, with the manufacturing device by an additive manufacturing process, the orthodontic article based on the digital object. A system is also provided, including a display that displays a 3D model of an orthodontic article; and one or more processors that, in response to the 3D model selected by a user, cause a 3D printer to create a physical object of an orthodontic article.

Abstract: The composition includes a polyorganosiloxane and an amino-functional silane. The polyorganosiloxane has divalent units represented by Formula (I) and greater than two -Si(Y) p (R) 3-P groups, in which each R is a non-hydrolyzable group; each Y is a hydrolysable group; and p is 1, 2, or 3. A method of using the composition to make a coated article is also described.
