    Abstract: An article includes a first microstructured layer and a second microstructured layer. The first microstructured layer includes a plurality of first microstructures forming a plurality of first grooves therebetween. The second microstructured layer includes a plurality of second microstructures disposed adjacent to the plurality of first microstructures. The plurality of second microstructures forms a plurality of second grooves therebetween. The article further includes a light absorbing material disposed in at least each of the plurality of first grooves and each of the plurality of second grooves. The light absorbing material bonds the first microstructured layer to the second microstructured layer.

Each first particle includes a polymeric bead including an outer surface. Each first particle further includes an outer layer disposed on the outer surface of the polymeric bead.     Abstract: Generally, the present disclosure relates to light control films. The present disclosure also relates to assemblies incorporating light control films. In some embodiments, the light control films of the present disclosure regulate transmission of one or more of visible light, ultraviolet light, and infrared light that reaches a substrate after exiting the light control film. The light control film comprises waveguiding channels (130) which collect light incident under larger incidence angles towards the surface opposite the incidence surface. The channels are surrounded by a material (140) having a lower refractive index than the one the channel material and can comprise an absorbing pigment.

    Abstract: A light redirecting film includes a first layer disposed on a second layer with structured major surfaces of the first and second layers facing each other. An optically reflective layer or a metal layer is disposed between the first and second layers. The first layer can be a hot melt adhesive layer and the second layer can be a polymeric layer. The first and second layers can be unitary layers. The first layer can be a first polymeric layer having a softening temperature T1 and the second layer can be a second polymeric layer having a softening temperature T2 greater than T1. Heating and/or applying pressure to the film changes an optical characteristic of the film by less than about 5%.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a solar device, comprises one or more photovoltaic cells disposed in an encapsulant and a light control structure including a louver film having a series of louver structures, wherein each louver structure includes one or more groupings of a plurality magnetizable particles aligned at least in a first orientation dispersed in a binding matrix. The light control structure substantially transmits light incident at a first angle and substantially limits transmission of light incident at a second angle. Each louver structure is spaced apart from an adjacent louver structure, wherein each louver structure is substantially aligned in a plane substantially parallel to an adjacent louver structure.
