Abstract: Polyester copolymeric materials include 40 to 51 mol% substituted naphthalate units, such as dimethyl-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate units, 10 to 40 mol% ethylene units, and 10 to 40 mol% hexane units. The polyester copolymers can be used to prepare multi-layer optical films by coextrusion and/or co-stretching. The copolyester polymeric materials have desirable optical properties and permit thermal processing at lower temperatures.

Abstract: A dental appliance for positioning a patient's teeth includes a polymeric shell with a plurality of cavities for receiving one or more teeth. The polymeric shell includes at least 3 alternating polymeric layers AB, wherein layer A includes a thermoplastic polymer A, layer B includes a thermoplastic polymer B, and the thermoplastic polymer B is different from the thermoplastic polymer A. Each of the thermoplastic polymers A and B have a flexural modulus of about 1.0 GPa to about 4.0 GPa; and each of the thermoplastic polymers A and B have a glass transition temperature (T g ) greater than about 40 °C.

Abstract: Hot melt processable adhesive compositions to mask electronic components include at least one block copolymer, at least one tackifying resin, at least one semi-crystalline polyolefin polymer, at least one plasticizer, and at least one anti-oxidant. The adhesive composition is a hot melt processable pressure sensitive adhesive composition that is thermally stable, such that the composition when disposed on a surface withstands heating to 260°C without degradation or flowing, remains optically transparent, and after heating to 260°C remains cleanly removable.

Abstract: A cable assembly is disclosed. The cable assembly includes an electrically conductive wire and a dielectric layer at least partially circumscribing the wire, the dielectric layer defining an internal cavity and the wire being disposed within the internal cavity. A shield layer is disposed at an opposed side of the dielectric layer than is the wire. A plurality of projections are formed on the dielectric layer, the projections extend outwardly toward the shield layer, and a length of a first projection along a corresponding first projection axis is greater than a length of a second projection along a corresponding second projection axis.

Abstract: A thermally conductive adhesive is provided. The thermally conductive adhesive includes a polyolefin block-containing copolymer, a tackifier, and a thermally conductive filler. The thermally conductive adhesive is a crosslinked pressure sensitive adhesive, plus exhibits a high elongation at break. Additionally provided are thermally conductive articles, including a thermally conductive adhesive on a substrate and a thermally conductive pad. A method of making a thermally conductive adhesive is also provided, including exposing a composition to radiation to crosslink the composition.

Abstract: A sealed cable assembly includes a jacket enclosing a plurality of insulated wires. Each insulated wire includes a bare wire covered by surrounding insulation, and a cable plug or connector is electrically connected with the bare wires. A sealant surrounds the insulated wires in an air gap between the jacket and the insulated wires in a location at or near the cable plug or connector, and the sealant fills the air gap at the location to prevent or reduce fluid loss through the cable in an immersion cooling system. The cable assembly can also be sealed at an in-between section away from the cable plug or connector. The cable assembly is wrapped with a weatherproof film or tape at the location of the sealing to further prevent or reduce fluid loss through the cable.

Abstract: Multi-layer films, and processes to make the films, that enable the delivery of a substrate featuring a peelable thin layer of low haze, amorphous, isotropic film with the desired properties of high modulus, high usage temperature, UV blockage, and toughness. The films are made using a co-extrusion, co-orientation and annealing process to enable the delivery of a thin isotropic, UV blocking layer on top of a release layer and support substrate. These film constructions can be kept together during additional processing steps such as coating and converting. The release and dimensionally stable substrate layer can be easily removed once processing steps are completed.
