Abstract: A decorated particle comprises a single inorganic particle core having an uneven outer surface with a plurality of crevices and an average particle diameter of 20 to 150 microns. A binder retaining decorating particles is disposed on at least a portion of the outer surface of the inorganic particle core and fills the crevices. The decorating particles have an average particle diameter of 0.05 to 10 microns. A method of making decorated particles is also disclosed.

Abstract: A thermal interface layer includes pluralities of first and second particles dispersed in a polymeric binder at a total loading V in a range of about 40 volume percent to about 70 volume percent. The first and second particles have different compositions. The first particles include one or more of iron or nickel. The second particles include one or more of aluminum, magnesium, silicon, copper, or zinc. The thermal interface layer has a thermal conductivity in a thickness direction of the thermal interface layer in units of W/mK of at least K = 5.1 - 0.17 V + 0.002 V2.

Abstract: A substrate including a self-supporting tri-layer stack is described. The tri-layer stack includes first and second outer layers and a biaxially oriented layer disposed between and in direct contact with the first and second outer layers. The biaxially oriented layer may include a first polyester having greater than 45 mole percent naphthalate units and greater than 45 mole percent ethylene units. Each of the first and second outer layers includes a second polyester which may include 40 to 50 mole percent naphthalate units, at least 25 mole percent ethylene units, and 10 to 25 mole percent of branched or cyclic C4-C10 alkyl units.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a printable composition. The printable composition includes a polymer, a polymerizable component, a temporary solvent, a photoinitiator, and optionally an inhibitor. The present disclosure also provides an article including an integral blend of a thermoset polymer and a second polymer different from the thermoset polymer. Further, the present disclosure provides a method of making an article. The method includes (i) providing a printable composition; (ii) selectively curing the printable composition to form a gelled article; and (iii) removing at least a portion of the temporary solvent from the gelled article. The method may optionally include (iv) curing unpolymerized polymerizable component remaining before or after step (iii). Also, methods are provided, including receiving, by a manufacturing device having one or more processors, a digital object comprising data specifying a plurality of layers of an article, the article including: an integral blend of 8 to 50 wt.%, inclusive, of a thermoset polymer and 30 to 90 wt.%, inclusive, of a second polymer different from the thermoset polymer, wherein the weight percent is based on the total weight of the article; and generating, with the manufacturing device by an additive manufacturing process, the article based on the digital object. A system is provided, including a display that displays a 3D model of an article; and one or more processors that, in response to the 3D model selected by a user, cause a 3D printer to create a physical object of an article.
