In an improvement in the device for limiting the slipping of the wheels of a vehicle during a brake application as claimed in Specification 1,020,028 a valve 20 having its slide member 21 responsive to the difference in pressure between the suction and delivery side of a pump 16 driven from one of the rear wheels 13g is connected to the fluid circuit 25 feeding the brake cylinder 12g of the wheel 13g, whereby when the pressure differential is different to a predetermined value that section of the circuit which feeds the brake cylinder 12g of that particular wheel is connected to a return line leading to a fluid reservoir (not shown). _

In a fuel injection system the pressure drop across an orifice 30 is applied to a piston 7 controlling an orifice 38 in a return flow passage 2, 16, the pressure in which is controlled by a valve 45 actuated by a diaphragm 59 responsive to the suction in a Venturi V in the intake pipe. The pressure in the pipe 16 is transmitted to a piston 7c connected to piston 7 to balance the force due to the pressure drop P 1 -P 2 acting on piston 7. At slow running a valve connected to the throttle linkage closes orifice 30 and diverts the flow through an idling orifice in parallel therewith; a second connection to the throttle linkage also contacts diaphragm 59 to move valve 45 positively to an idling position in which the flow through passage 16 passes through an idling orifice in the valve 45. During over-running the high fuel pressure developed by the pump 1a is transmitted to a shoulder on piston 7 to cause it to open orifice 38 and by-pass most of the fuel back to the pump inlet.

    Abstract: 1,108,816. Universal joints; disc brakes. SOC. ANON. ANDRE CITROEN. 16 July, 1965 [23 July, 1964], No. 30419/65. Headings F2E and F2U. A elastic and sliding universal joint provided between each of two road-wheel driving half shafts 2 and final drive output shafts 1 in an automotive vehicle, comprises a sliding coupling and an elastic coupling in series, the sliding coupling comprising three radial pins carried by the shaft 2 and having mounted thereon, for free sliding and rotational movement, barrelshaped rollers 16 engaging straight, cylindrically contoured, grooves 15 in a casing 14, and the elastic coupling comprising three, or three pairs, of axially directed studs 4 screwed in a plate 3 of the shaft 1 and carrying elastomeric, e.g. synthetic rubber, sheaths 7 engaging, without play, recesses 12 in said casing. The studs 4 also clamp a brake disc 11 to the plate 3. The grooves 15 and the rollers 16 may have wear-resistant bushings. The sheaths 7 are double frusto-conical and are mounted on shouldered sleeves 5 which together with the sheaths are retained in pairs by strips 8 and nuts and washers 9, 10. The sheaths may be prestressed between the sleeves 5 and recesses 12, alternatively they may be cemented or cured on the sleeves or recesses. A leather or synthetic rubber dust-sealing bellows may be clamped over the shaft 2 and one side of the casing 14, the other side of which may be closed by a metal cover 21.
