    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanically stable electric discharge reactor easy to be manufactured by employing at least a firm block of a continuously foamed material as a dielectric filling material for an electric discharge gap between a pair of electrodes. SOLUTION: This electric discharge reactor comprises a first electrode 1 and a second electrode 2 and a voltage supply source 3 installed adjacently to the electrodes 1, 2. The gap between the electrodes 1, 2 is filled with one layer of a filling material which is a firm and continuously foamed material and the filling material has a function of a dielectric body capable of suppressing micro electric discharge. The continuously foamed material is preferably formed into a solid block 4 shape to be installed between the electrodes 1, 2. Consequently, when a gas flows through the gap between the electrodes 1, 2 in the direction shown as an arrow, a desired chemical reaction is induced in the pores of the block 4 by flowing silent discharge to treat a gas and isolate desired products.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently and excellently maintain the volume ratio of a synthetic gas, capable of previously being set at the outlet side of a liquid vessel after- connected when effectively obtaining a fuel and/or the fuel for a power from undesirable green house gas and a hydrogen-containing gas or vapor.     Abstract: In an incineration plant, effluent gases are cleaned prior to release, via an electrostatic filter. The electrostatic filter has electrodes which are part-cleaned at intervals during normal operation, by the brief application of a supplementary electrical pulse. In this way, only the oxygen is at least partially converted into ozone, and no undesired nitrogen oxides are formed.     Abstract: The process for conditioning waste gases comprises reacting SO3 with the waste gas and removing the particles in the waste gas in an electrostatic filter (3). The waste gas is fed through a gas discharge path (4) before it enters the filter (3). The gas discharge path has electrodes arranged across the waste gas stream, which are connected to a high voltage source (8). At least one of the electrodes, preferably high voltage electrodes (6), is provided with a dielectric (8), in which are produced OH radicals from the water vapour in the waste gas, which react with the SO2 in the waste gas to form SO3. The novelty is that the electrodes (5,6) are provided with a catalytic coating (9) on the surfaces facing the waste gas channel (2).

    Abstract: The device for removing dust from exhaust gases of furnaces and combustion engines comprises charging electrodes and in each case has collecting electrodes (1, 2) arranged on both sides thereof which, between them, define an exhaust gas duct (3). For the purpose of charging the particles and precipitating them, electrodes which are constructed and supplied in different ways are provided which alternate in the exhaust gas duct. Electrodes (4) made of a dielectric and connected to an alternating-current (a.c.) source serve for charging, high-voltage electrodes (5) connected to a direct-current (d.c.) voltage source serve for precipitation (collection). As a result of the functions of charging and precipitation being separated, homogeneous charging of the particles in the entire volume flow is achieved, together with high rates of precipitation.

    Abstract: In the device for removing dust from exhaust gases of furnaces and combustion engines, which contains negative brushing electrodes (spraying electrodes) (4a, 4b) and in each case has collecting electrodes (1, 2) arranged on both sides thereof which, between them, define an exhaust gas duct (3), the exhaust gas to be freed of dust is directed essentially perpendicular to the brushing electrodes. A high-voltage source (10, 11) connected to the brushing electrodes is connected to the brushing electrodes and to the collecting electrodes, and generates the electric field, necessary for the precipitation of dust, in the exhaust gas duct. In order to increase the collection efficiency (capturing efficiency, filtration efficiency), the spraying electrodes (4a, 4b) can be connected in sets to a high-voltage source (10, 11), each brushing electrode of the one set (4a) being arranged between a brushing electrode of the other set(s).
