Abstract: Method for determination of the mass flow rate of a fluid medium (100) through a measurement pipe (2) that is contained and supported by a support pipe (3, 4) that is used to excite vibrations in the measurement pipe so that Coriolis mass flow measurements can be made. To prevent asymmetries or anisotropies in the measurement flow medium the measurement arrangement is tensioned to match the properties of the fluid medium either prior to, or during measurements. An Independent claim is made for a Coriolis type mass flow measurement device wherein the support pipe for the measurement pipe is in contact with a tensioning and adjustment device (7) with which a defined tensile force can be applied to balance out asymmetries or anisotropies.

Abstract: Flow rate and density determining sensor has a linear measuring tube (2) that has an inlet opening and an outlet opening at its ends (2A, 2B) and connected with a supporting component (3), where the component is used as an oscillator. Vibrations of the tube are coupled at the vibrations of the oscillator. The supporting component has its center of gravity at an outer side of a longitudinal axis of the tube. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating the above sensor.
