A diameter of the exhaust tube (7) increases in longitudinal direction (z) away from the arcing volume (5). Additionally or alternatively, the exhaust tube (7) comprises a plurality of exhaust tube openings (8) through its side wall (12), which connect the interior of the exhaust tube (7) with the exhaust volume (6), wherein at least a part of the exhaust tube openings (8) have different sizes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electrical switching device with a switching chamber (10), which comprises at least two arcing contacts (192, 192) movable in relation to each other and defining an arcing region (22) in which an arc (20) is formed during a current breaking operation, with the switching chamber (10) being filled with a switching medium (20) for arc quenching and for dielectrical insulation. The switching chamber (10) further comprises an exhaust volume (40, 62) fluidically connected to the arcing region (22) to allow the switching medium heated by the arc (20) to flow out of the arcing region (22) to the exhaust volume (40, 62), thereby transferring heat to a surface area of a metal component of the switching chamber (10). The device is characterized in that at least a portion of a surface contained in the switching chamber (10) is covered with a porous layer (72).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing, monitoring and/or predicting a condition of a switching apparatus, the switching apparatus containing an insulation medium comprising at least one organofluorine compound C1, said method comprising the steps of : a) selecting at least one physical quantity x of the insulation medium; b) determining the difference between value x so of the physical quantity x at initial state S0 of the apparatus and value x S1 of the physical quantity x at second state S1, with SI being later in time than S0, and c) deducing from the difference between x so and x S1 the decrease in amount of the organofluorine compound C1 and/or the total amount of the organofluorine compound C1, wherein the physical quantity x is the amount of a decomposition product C2 of the organofluorine compound CI or a physical quantity dependent thereon.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a refill-container for replenishing and/or reconditioning an insulation fluid contained in an insulation space of an electrical apparatus. At least a portion of the interior of the refill-container defines a refill-fluid containment space, in which a refill-fluid comprising an organo-fluorine compound is contained. According to the invention, the refill-container further comprises an opening designed to be brought from a sealed state, in which the refill-fluid is hermetically contained in the refill-containment space, to an open state, in which the refill-fluid is allowed to flow through the opening out of the refill-containment space into the insulation space.
