Abstract:
An electrification arrangement is provided for simplifying changes to the system, such as adding new electrical loads. The arrangement includes a power supply bus that routes available electric power throughout a facility. Electrical loads may be connected to the power supply bus using smart connectors that provide electrical protection and control of respective electrical loads.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to high-resistivity permanent magnets, their preparation and their application in electrical machines. A permanent magnet according to the present invention comprises a permanent magnet comprising a magnetic material and a shaped inorganic insulating element, wherein a shape and a size of the shaped inorganic insulating element have been substantially unchanged by the sintering, wherein the shaped inorganic insulating element has a width and a length which are both at least 10 times larger than an average grain diameter of the magnetic material after sintering, and wherein an arithmetic average waviness Wa of an interface between the magnetic material and the shaped inorganic insulating element is less than 10% of a local wall thickness of the shaped inorganic insulating element after sintering.
Abstract:
An insert device for sealing a conduit, wherein at least one component of the insert device is configured to separate and position at least one wire in the conduit in order to create a space or inner volume for a sealant to be introduced thereinto. The insert device can have a nozzle configured to allow precise injection of the sealant into the inner volume. The insert device can be operated for quick and reliably repeatable sealing of conduits.
Abstract:
This application concerns a magnet having a magnet body as well as a method for manufacturing such a magnet. The magnet body has a first region with first magnetic properties and a second region with second magnetic properties that are different to the first properties. Owing to the manufacturing process of the magnet body, the relative location of the first region and the second region within the magnet body is freely predeterminable.
Abstract:
A conduit seal that serves to connect conduits between different environments while providing sufficient insulation to mitigate condensation and molding issues. The conduit seal can also provide grounding continuity with an electrical conducting insert, thereby providing electrical continuity across a thermal barrier between the environments. The conduit seal can be used in a variety of applications including the food and beverage industry and the pharmaceutical industry.
Abstract:
A synchronous machine and related systems include a stator and rotor separated by an air gap. The rotor includes a rotating DC power supply coupled to exciter windings disposed adjacent the air gap. Power from air gap harmonics, including air gap slot harmonics induce current in the exciter windings, which is rectified and supplied to the rotor field windings. In operation, a desired current level in the rotor field windings can be achieved through control of the DC power supply or superposition of harmonics into the stator winding current which induces the prescribed current in exciter windings.
Abstract:
A method of balancing a rotor and/or fixing rotor components includes arranging a plurality of generally like laminations side by side in a stack to form at least a part of a rotor. The rotor has a rotational center axis and each of the laminations having a plurality of apertures that cooperate to form passages that extend axially along a length of the stack. In accordance with an aspect of the method, a polymer based fixation material is filled in the passages in a manner to fix the laminations together in the stack. With the fixation material, a sprue is formed, projecting from an axial face of the stack. In accordance with another aspect of the method, a weight of the sprue is adjusted to rotationally balance the rotor about the rotor center axis.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a motor. The motor can include a stator defining an interior space, a rotor disposed in the interior space of the stator. The rotor can include a body defining a structure and a plurality of magnets disposed in the plurality of cavities. In some embodiments, the structure defines a plurality of cavities in the body of the rotor, the plurality of cavities includes at least a first cavity and a second cavity, the first cavity is spaced radially outward from the second cavity, and a thickness of the first cavity is larger than a thickness of the second cavity. In some embodiments, at least some of the cavities of the plurality of cavities have a magnet from the plurality of magnets disposed therein.
