Abstract: An electric machine can include a rotor and a stator having a stator core. The stator core is made of stator sheets (240) formed into stator sheet packages and comprises first radial air channels positioned between the stator sheet packages. Each stator sheet (240) comprises first interlocking means (260). Spacer elements (270) provided with second interlocking means (280) that coincide with the first interlocking means (260) are positioned between each stator sheet package. The first interlocking means (260) lock adjacent stator sheets in the stator sheet package together and the second interlocking means (280) transfer the locking between two adjacent stator sheet packages through the spacer elements (270) in order to achieve a rigid stator core.
