1280761 Protecting seeds from fungi and bacteria ABBOTT LABORATORIES 17 Feb 1970 [10 March 1969] 7651/70 Heading A2Q [Also in Divisions B2 C2 and C3] Seeds are protected from fungal and bacterial attacking by treating them with a di-iodomethyl sulphone of the formula: wherein R is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, halophenyl, polychlorophenyl, tert-butylphenyl, aminophenyl, acetylaminophenyl, naphthyl, nitrophenyl, halonitrophenyl, (C 1 -C 4 ) alkoxyphenyl, nitro (C 1 -C 4 ) alkylphenyl, halo (C 1 -C 4 ) alkylphenyl or poly (C 1 -C 4 ) alkylphenyl, and n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 4. An Example is given in which flax seeds are treated with compounds of the above formula.
