    Abstract: PURPOSE: To control the dip amount of a pipe into a sample liquid and the suction amount of the sample liquid, by gushing air from the pipet, detecting the change of a back pressure generated in the pipet when air comes into- contact with the surface of the sample liquid, and obtaining the liquid level. CONSTITUTION: A pump 32 is driven in a compression mode by a control part 38, so that air is gushed out from a pipet 14 supported at a transfer stage 10. When the pipet 14 comes into contact with a sample 19 in a test tube 18 subsequent to the fall of the stage 10, a back pressure is generated in a tube 28, which is detected by a transducer 36. In consequence, the control part 38 raises the pipet 14 and sends a command to discharge the air remaining in a system of the tube 28. Thereafter, the control part 38 lowers the stage 10 again by a total distance of a detected liquid level of the sample 19 and a predetermined distance required for the sample 19 in the test tube 18 to be sucked a predetermined amount. When the pipet 14 is dipped the distance in the sample 19, the pump 32 is driven in a discharge mode, whereby the interior of the tube 28 is turned to a predetermined vacuum. The predetermined amount of the sample 19 is thus sucked in the pipet 14.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To verify chemiluminescence by providing porous solid element, porous absorber, chemiluminescent activated solution uniform distributing means and photoelectric detecting means. CONSTITUTION: Porous solid element made of fiber matrix is passed to immobilize chemiluminescent component in sample, and the other reaction component is passed. Chemically inactive porous absorber is provided in a reaction vessel for chemiluminescent activation reaction. After reactive substance is previously cultured in a culturing chamber, it is transferred to a porous solid element. Chemiluminescent activation solution is uniformly distributed from a plurality of nozzles 22, 23 disposed to be directed toward the inner surface of the opening of a reaction chamber to the porous solid element, and chemiluminescent activation reaction is generated. It is photoelectrically detected by a photoelectric multiplier 24 via a photoconductive tube 20, and a chemiluminescent signal is measured. With the constitution, virus particles, polymer antigen and hapten can be simply chemically optically identified.
