Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information system performing measurements regarding to chemical and or biological reaction, and a method using the same.SOLUTION: There are provided a method and system for determining the quantity of an analyte initially present in a chemical and or biological reaction as well as a computer implemented method and system to automate a portion of the analysis comprising mathematical or graphical analysis of an amplification reaction. The amount of the target present in the test sample can be objectively quantified without calculating variable threshold values and Ct values. The information usable in determining the degree of inhibition in the reaction can be obtained by the shape analysis of the PCR amplification curve of the data in cycles after Ct, etc., which are ignored before.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for sampling a blood sample from a patient including a step (a) of forming a non-closed opening in the surface of a skin from which the blood sample is to be extracted, and a step (b) of extracting the blood sample from the non-closed opening in the skin by assist of vacuum and skin elongation. SOLUTION: This device includes a device, favorably an incision assembly, for forming a non-closed opening in the surface of a skin from which a sample is to be extracted, and a vacuum pump. Preferably, it includes a housing. In addition, an air pressure incision assembly is provided. In this air pressure incision assembly, a differential gas pressure is used for pushing out a lancet to a skin o organization. In addition, an item capable of recovering blood, and detecting quantity of analyte in blood is provided. The item including a proper detection element for measuring quantity of analyte in blood is usable as it is combined with a meter to measure signals generated by the detection element in the item.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction vessel with a bottom drain opening supporting a selected unpressured head of fluid by the surface tension of the fluid. SOLUTION: A device processing zone includes a support for spaced rows of reaction vessels, passages communicating with their drain openings of supported vessels, and a pressure source for selectively draining fluid through the drain openings. Generally, horizontal bar magnets are supported for selected vertical movement between the vessel rows. A dispensing head has X discharge openings selectively positionable over X selected reaction vessels. A metering pump mechanism selectively meters X selected quantities of fluid from a bulk supply (where X is at least four), and selectively pumps the metered selected quantities through the drain openings to the selected reaction vessels. Methods of drawing fluid from the vessels using the pressure source, and moving the magnets to form a pellet of analyte are also included. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assay method for qualitatively and quantitatively measuring binding between specific binding pair members utilizing the response of a magnetically responsive reagent to the influence of a magnetic field. SOLUTION: The presence of an analyte mediates whether or not the magnetically responsive reagent binds to a mobile solid phase reagent. The extent of binding modulates the response of the magnetically responsive reagent or that of the mobile solid phase reagent, or both, to the influence of a magnetic field. The response to the magnetic field of the magnetically responsive reagent, or that of the mobile solid phase reagent, is measured to accurately determine the presence or amount of analyte contained in a test sample. Various devices are utilized to carry out the assay method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assay method utilizing the response of a magnetically responsive reagent to the influence of a magnetic field to qualitatively or quantitatively measure binding between specific binding pair members. SOLUTION: The presence of an analyte is determined depending on whether or not the magnetically responsive reagent binds to a mobile solid phase reagent. The extent of binding will modulate the response of the magnetically responsive reagent or that of the mobile solid phase reagent, or both, to the influence of a magnetic field. Hence, measuring the response to the magnetic field of the magnetically responsive reagent, or that of the mobile solid phase reagent, enables the accurate determination of the presence or amount of analyte contained in a test sample.
