    Abstract: A DSX system (30) arranged to receive a plurality of high-density chassis (32) is disclosed. The chassis (32) include back planes (24) having rear access IN/OUT fields (42) and rear access cross-connect fields (40). The rear access fields are electrically connected to termination panels located in respective IN/OUT regions and cross-connect regions. Each of the regions includes cable management channels within which system cables are routed.

    Abstract: A DSX system (30) arranged to receive a plurality of high-density chassis (32) is disclosed. The chassis include back planes (24) having rear access IN/OUT fields (42) and rear access cross-connect fields (40). The rear access IN/OUT fields are electrically connected to termination structures and panels located in respective IN/OUT regions and cross-connect regions. The termination structures of the IN/OUT region includes first and second fanning strips (630, 632) located along edges of termination panels (69). The surge protector device includes pins for mounting to an edge mount (86) of the circuit board, and the housing includes a removable cover (58) to allow access to the cutout and the surge protector device.
