    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength cut filter which has low incident angle dependence and high heat resistance and can be produced with reduced thickness.SOLUTION: A wavelength cut filter comprises a glass substrate A, a coating layer B containing a squarylium dye, and an infrared reflective film C laminated together. A transmittance of the filter preferably satisfies the following conditions (i)-(iii). (i) In a wavelength range of 430 to 580 nm, an average transmittance measured in a direction normal to the wavelength cut filter is no less than 75%. (ii) In a wavelength range of 800 to 1000 nm, an average transmittance measured in the direction normal to the wavelength cut filter is no more than 5%. (iii) In a wavelength range of 560 to 800 nm, an absolute value of a difference between a wavelength value (Ya) at which the transmittance is 80% when measured in the direction normal to the wavelength cut filter and a wavelength value (Yb) at which the transmittance is 80% when measured in a direction at 35° from the direction normal to the wavelength cut filter is no more than 30 nm.
