Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured rotor locking/unlocking device applicable to a locking/unlocking operation repeated frequently. SOLUTION: A rotor B is provided with an annular flange 1 extending across an axial line Z-Z, while a stator A is provided with a stationary annular supporting face 2 and a movable annular supporting face 3 axially facing the flange 1 on both sides of the flange 1. The movable annular supporting face 3 is formed in a thrust ring 4 connected radially to a stator pat 5. The thrust ring 4 moves between an unlocking position and a locking position by an action of an annular air bag 6 arranged between a stator back face 7 and the thrust ring 4 inside the stator part 5. In the unlocking position, both annular supporting faces 2, 3 are arranged separately from each other, so that the rotor B is freely rotated and moved in the radial/axial direction. In the locking position, the movable annular supporting face 3 is pressed axially toward the stationary annular supporting face 2, so that the flange 1 is held fixedly.

Abstract: The locking mechanism includes an annular rotor flange (1) which is placed transversally w.r.t the rotor (B) rotation axis. The stator (A) has an extended section (5) with an arm (2) partly covering the flange. The arm has a disc shape including an annular extension. A slidable ring (6) is placed transversally w.r.t the rotation axis and partially in regard with the flange, on the opposite side than the arm. The slidable ring is placed on a pushing ring (4) which is radially fixed to a portion (5) of the stator. The pushing ring can move axially w.r.t this stator portion. An inflatable annular element (6) is inserted between a fixed stator portion (7) and the pushing ring. Air can be inserted externally to pump up the element which thus moves the slidable ring against the fixed flange, locking the rotor in place w.r.t the stator.
