Abstract: PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the liquid nitrogen usage quantity by feeding nitrogen gas in a Dewar bottle and making the inner pressure the same as the pressure of the ambient air or slightly higher at the time of the ordinary operation in the Dewar bottle for a charged particle detector or the like. CONSTITUTION:An object to be cooled 2 in a Dewar bottle 3 is immersed in liquid nitrogen 1, and the cold end 10 of a helium gas circulation type adiabatic expansion refrigerator is fitted to the upper port of the Dewar bottle 3 with an O-ring seal 9. After the operation of the refrigerator is started, the nitrogen gas of a nitrogen gas cylinder 12 is fed into the Dewar bottle 3 while being controlled by a pressure reducing flow control valve 11 so that the inner pressure is made the same as the pressure of the ambient air or slightly higher. The valve 11 is closed after the temperature equilibrium is attained, and the operation of only the refrigerator is continued. The usage quantity of liquid nitrogen is sharply reduced, and the maintenance and management can be simplified.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize the axial symmetry and to apply the enumeration formula of the thermal diffusivity in which an axial symmetry is presumed by rotating a sample in the infrared rays image furnace. CONSTITUTION:A sample 8 is cylindrical, and provided with the sheath type alumel chromel thermocouples 13-15, two pieces in the interior, one piece on the side surface and three pieces in total. The sample is place on a sample stand 12, the stand is fixed at a rotary shaft 22 held vertically by a bearing 18, and therefore, by the belt bridged between belt pulleys 19 and 20 which are not shown in the figure, the sample can be rotated by a motor 21. An infrared rays image furnace 9 corrects the edge surface in the upward and downward directions with thermal reflecting plates 11 and 16. By the output of the thermocouple 13, the infrared rays image furnace 9 is PID-controlled, a sample side surface is made into the prescribed temperature, and the output of the temperature difference of the thermocouples 14 and 15 at that time is recorded, thereby the thermal diffusivity is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the heat exchanging device by a method wherein a tube, having a nozzle through which a low-density heat medium which exchanges heat between a high-density phase changing substance is passed, is dipped into the phase changing substance vertically substantially and only the lowest nozzle, not blockaded by the solid phase of the phase changing substance, is operated. CONSTITUTION:The tube 1, dipped into high-density phase changing substance vertically substantially and through which the low-density heat medium, effecting heat exchange between the high-density phase changing substance, is passed, is enclosed by a different tube 2 in coaxial relation while a space between these two tubes is provided with a porous substance 4 to provide the heat medium with a flow resistance and only the lowest nozzle among the nozzles 3, provided on the outside tube and through which the heat medium is passed since it is not blockaded by the solid phase of the phase changing substance, is operated. The heat medium is blown into the phase changing substance through the lowest nozzle and is changed into heat medium particles 9, thereafter, the particles 9 are ascended. When a time has elapsed, the phase changing substance 11, changed into solid phase, sinks to the bottom of a vessel 10 and is accumulated whereby the lower nozzle are blockaded. In this case, the lowest nozzle, which is not blockaded, is operated. A distance to flow the heat medium through the liquid phase of the phase changing substance may be elongated and the highly efficient heat exchanger may be realized.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent vapor absorbing performance in a absorbing medium and make it possible to use it stably by using a medium to absorb vapor which includes at least one kind of nitrate selected from nitrates of alkali metal and nitrates of alkaline earth metal. CONSTITUTION:As a vapor absorbing medium the water solution of a nitrate of alkali metal, water solution of alkaline earth metal, and the water solution of a mixture of a nitrate of alkali metal and nitrate of alkaline earth metal are used. As a nitrate of alkali metal lithium nitrate, sodium nitrate, and potassium nitrate are, for instance, used. As a nitrate of alkaline earth metal calcium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, strontium nitrate, etc. are, for instance, used. Those nitrates are used individually or in a combination of more than two nitrates. The vapor absorbing medium in the invention has not only an excellent vapor absorbing capability but also a very low corrosiveness for metal materials and it is used preferably as a working medium for vapor absorbing in a chemical heat pump of absorption type, its refrigerator, etc.
