Abstract: PURPOSE:To expand the range of the use of a carbon material in application fields such as absorbent, electromagnetic-shielding material, etc., by using a hollow short-fibrous carbon material formed through subjecting conifer charcoal to gaseous phase oxidation at a specified temp. and thereafter the resulting material to alkali treatment.
