Abstract: A photocatalytic powder for environmental clarification, comprising finely divided titanium dioxide particles having a coating of porous calcium phosphate formed on at least part of the surface of each titanium dioxide particle, wherein an anionic surface active agent is present at least on the interface between said coating of porous calcium phosphate and the titanium dioxide particle. This photocatalytic powder is produced by dispersing finely divided titanium dioxide particles in an aqueous slurry containing an anionic surface active agent, and then forming a coating of porous calcium phosphate on at least part of the surface of each titanium dioxide particle. This photocatalytic powder is used, for example, by supporting it in an organic polymer shaped article.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently recover oil from a liq. oil-water mixture by forming a highly porous body contg. inorg. fibers and an inorg. binder and imparting such a satisfactory hydrophilicity as to pass water and to intercept oil to a part of the highly porous body coming in contact with the oil-water mixture. SOLUTION: A molding contg. an aggregate of inorg. fibers capturing an inorg. binder forming powdery starting material is fired at a temp. above the min. temp. at which the powdery starting material reacts with the inorg. fibers to obtain a highly porous fired body having a large specific surface area, a large number of -OH groups per unit volume and such a sufficiently high hydrophilicity as to pass water and to intercept oil. Amorphous silica fibers are predominantly used as the inorg. fibers and fibers of one or more selected from alumina, an aluminosilicate and an aluminoborosilicate are used as inorg. fibers for reinforcement. The inorg. binder is the reaction product of powder of a crystallization inhibitor which inhibits the crystallization of the amorphous silica fibers with the inorg. fibers.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the physical burden on a patient at the time of attachment of an artificial dental root, to lessen the occurrence of inflammation after the attachment and to easily fix the artificial dental root to the alveolar bone by providing a planar end with a hook for fixing for the purpose of fixation of the artificial dental root to the alveolar bone and prevention of dislodgment. SOLUTION: The artificial dental root is used by fixing the hook 3 for fixing disposed over the entire part or part at the front end of the planar part 2 into grooves previously chipped and disposed at the prescribed positions on the flank of the alveolar bone 4 and fixing the artificial dental root to the alveolar bone 4. The transverse length of the planar part 2 is in a range of 8 to 20 mm and the longitudinal length suffices with a range of approximately 5 to 10 mm both on the right and left from the center of a post part 1 inclusive of the hook 3 for fixing at the center of the shape of the bent planar part 2. The hook 3 for fixing entering the grooves on the flank of the alveolar bone 4 plays the role of fixing the artificial dental root and the force acting on the post part 1 may be received at over the entire part of the contact surface of the planar part 2 and the alveolar bone 4 if not only the shape of the hook 3 for fixing but the bone side shape of the planar part 2 coincide with the shape of the alveolar bone 4 in ruggedness inversion.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and efficiently produce an implant molded product having a desired shape, desired surface properties, a desired accuracy, etc., by baking apatite carbonate at a specific temperature or below, filling a sintered material in a metal mold and then carrying out plastic working at a specified temperature. SOLUTION: A raw material powder of apatite carbonate having about 1-300 m2/g value of BET is baked at
