    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound comprising an oligopeptide chain containing an amino acid reside such as glycine residue or the like is bonded to both ends of a long-chain alkylene group, readily producible from inexpensive raw materials, useful as a functional material capable of forming a stable molecular aggregate by high self clustering. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by formula I (Al,... and Am are each glycine residue, proline residue or sarcosine residue; (m) is 2-12; (n) is 8-18) such as N,N'-bis(glycylglycine)decane-1,10-dicarboxamide. The compound of the formula is obtained, for example, by condensing an oligopeptide hydrochloride containing a free N end (amino group end) and a protected C end of the formula HCl.H-Am-...-Al-OR (OR is a C end protecting group of amino acid) (e.g. glycylglycine benzyl ester hydrochloride or the like) with a compound of the formula: HOOC-(CH2 )n -COOH (e.g. 1,10-clecanedicarboxylic acid or the like) and then eliminating the C end protecting group OR).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine fibrous polymer with chemical and physical stability which can not have been obtained so far, by polymerizing a molecular aggregate of a double-headed glycolipid obtainable by synthesis. SOLUTION: A double-headed type glycolipid polymer comprises a repeating unit expressed by the formula (wherein R and R are each a moiety of aldopiranose in which the reducing terminal hydroxyl groups thereof are removed or in which at least one part of them is protected; and x and y are each 3-8), and has a wt.-average mol.wt. of 3,000-50,000. This fine fibrous polymer is stable over a long period and is usable as electrically conductive fibers and fibrous nonlinear optical materials in the fields of electronic instrument production and information.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new twin-head type lipid useful as a functional material for medicines, cosmetics, electronic information, foods, etc., readily producible from an inexpensive raw material, capable of forming a more stable molecule aggregate by high selfaccumulation properties, containing C ends of an oligopeptide chain at both ends. SOLUTION: This twin-head type lipid containing C end of oligopeptide chain at both ends is shown by formula I (Al to Am are each any amino acid residue of a glycine residue, a proline residue and a sarcosine residue; (m) is an integer of >=2; (n) is an integer of 6-18), is readily producible from an inexpensive raw material and is capable of forming a stable molecule aggregate by high selfaccumulation properties. The lipid is useful as a functional material for medicine and cosmetic fields, electronic information, food industry, agricultural and forestry, fiber industry, etc. The lipid is obtained by condensing an oligopeptide hydrochloride of formula II (OR is an amino acid C end-protecting group) containing a free N end and a protected C end with a dicarboxylic acid of formula III and eliminating the C end protecting group.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a fibrous aggregate of micromolecules by dispersing an amphipatic substance contg. an amino acid residue represented by a specified general formula in distilled water and by carrying out ultrasonic treatment. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous aggregate of micromolecules made of a single kind of molecules and having amphipatic property comparable to that of natural lipid is produced by utilizing hydrogen bonding strength between amino acid residues and hydrophobic interaction between long chain alkyl groups. For example, a compd. represented by formula I [where X is halogen, (n) is an integer and R is 12-22C long chain alkyl] is dispersed in distilled water to about 10 -10 mol/l concn. and this dispersion liq. is subjected to ultrasonic treatment at about 70-80 deg.C to produce a fibrous aggregate of micromolecules. This aggregate capable of stably retaining its shape over a long time can be very easily obtd. from the high purity starting material as compared with a case using biolipid.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject new glycolipid comprising a specific polymerizable double-headed type glycolipid having plural acetylene groups and self-assembling properties, capable of forming a microfibrous aggregate and useful as a carrier or an adsorbent in living bodies, an organic electrode, a microelectronic part, or the like. SOLUTION: This new polymerizable double-headed type glycolipid is represented by the formula [A and A are each a residue after removing reducing terminal hyroxyl group from an aldopyranose or at least a part of hydroxyl groups therein are protected; (x) and (y) are each an integer of 3-8] [e.g. N,N'- bis(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)decan-4,6-diyne-1,10-dicarboxamide] and is useful as a carrier or an adsorbent in living bodies, an organic electrode capable of carrying out oxidation and reduction or an microelectronic part, or the like, by doping thereof with an electroconductive substance. The compound is produced by reducing 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl azide, or the like, and then reacting the resultant compound with 5,7-dodecadiynedioic acid chloride, or the like.
