Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a window that is easily accessed by generating and showing a secondary display area which covers at least an optional window or an optional icon shown in a prescribed part of a primary display area and viewing completely the secondary display area and its contents on a display screen. CONSTITUTION: The display screen 75 shows a physical display console of a computer system. A desktop area 20 called primary display area is a part that is seen behind the screen in the background. An open window area 60 is prepared at the lower part of a desktop and the icons 55 to 58 are included in the desktop. As the window 60 is open. the contents of the window 60 are known and can be accessed by a cursor pointer 50. Thus, it is possible to obtain a window that can be easily accessed by the special cursor control and via icons.
